Yuruparí Grupo Folklórico is a community dance group based in London, under the direction of Xihomara Zentner (née Granados), whose aim is to teach and maintain the popular dances of Colombia in the UK. The group is formed by dancers from diverse roots and ages, many with no dance background but have learned the dance techniques and choreographies at Yuruparí school.
Yuruparí Grupo Folklórico is the folkloric ambassador of Colombian and Latin American in the UK.
The group showcases colourful folkloric rhythms from Colombia and other Latin American countries.
They have performed in many places all over the UK and Europe including: Spain, Italy, Norway and Malta.

Since its formation, one of Yuruparí Grupo Folklorico’s aim is to educate people and disseminate the knowledge of the Colombian and Latin American Culture in the UK. Yuruparí had done hundreds of dance workshops in schools, community centres, churches, cultural centres and many other public and private venues to fulfil this aim. We are able to provide dance workshops for all ages and occasions.
We have also choreographed dances for special events or occasions most recently for the Elephant Revealing Day at Castle square and the opening of Colombian Gold Exhibition at the British Museum. Also special choreographies for weddings and Quinciañeras.
